KIM GEK LIN SHORT (Poet; Philadelphia)

CARLOS SOTO ROMÁN was born in Valparaíso, Chile. He has published the books La Marcha de los Quiltros (The Mongrel's March,1999), Haiku Minero (Miner Haiku, 2007) and Cambio y Fuera (Over and Out, 2009). He has resided in Philadelphia since March of 2009 and is a member of The New Philadelphia Poets and the editor of the new cooperative anthology of U.S. poetry, Elective Affinities.

BETH NIXON, local puppeteer and pioneer of Ramshackle Enterprises, comes to us fresh off the plane from Chicago’s Banners & Cranks: A Festival of Cantastoria (or a live narration of an illustrated fabric book), where she debuted her own piece Antipodal Goatlegs. In addition to salt mining and tourists in Bermuda, this tale evokes the question, “What’s on exactly the other side of the world from Reychavik, Iceland?” Please visit her wildly outdated website: www.ramshackleenterprises.net.

KIM GEK LIN SHORT is author of The Bugging Watch and Other Exhibits and the chapbooks The Residents and Run. Her next book China Cowboy is forthcoming from Tarpaulin Sky in 2011.
